STAT LABORATORY BLOOD TESTS

SCANNING ULTRASOUND

Scanning ultrasound is utilized primarily to evaluate for free fluid in the chest or abdomen. It is of vital importance in all trauma patients to assess for internal bleeding. This procedure is non-invasive and requires minimal handling so can also be used to check animals with breathing problems and sudden weakness with little stress.

ELECTROCARIOGRAM EKG

ECG allows us to evaluate patients with heart disease for arrhythmias to provide better management of their condition.  Anesthetic patients have continual ECG monitoring for immediate detection of changes in heart rate or rhythm. ECG’s are also checked in pet’s that have ingested some toxins, or for medical conditions that can cause secondary heart problems.
